Demersal unit simulator

Application

It is intended for simulation of demersal unit with different dimensions. It is used while testing multi-beam echo-sounders and sonars.

Specifications:

1. Dimensions: one side - from 0.5 to 2m (and more)

2. Error of measuring depth of demersal unit simulator:
   • 0.1m for depth up to 50m
   • 0.2% for depth up to 200m
3. Instrumental error of measuring distance to water surface through hydro acoustic channel – 0.05m
4. Depth of placement – up to 200m
5. Hydro acoustic channel operating distance – up to 200 m
6. Power supply: В±12 V

Composition and operation

Consist of different demersal unit simulators with plating from sound scattering material, unit of measuring depths, cable with buoy, onboard computing system and launch-and-recovery system.

Demersal unit simulator has cube, parallelepiped and trapeze form.

Standard version – cube with side 1m (standard S-44 IHO)

The depth of simulator placement is measured by hydro acoustic channel of unit of measuring depths and transfers to onboard computing system by radio channel.

Simulator may be connected with profilograph of acoustic velocity and onboard computing system.
