Monitoring system for depth and bottom-bed load

System provides realization of demersal works while building and exploitation of engineering constructions in coastal area and continental shelf, including arctic seas.

Environment (water layer, landscape and ground of bottom) changes a lot due to the mechanical effects (stream, sea level fluctuations, bottom-bed load) and due to the physic-chemical factors. Above mentioned factors are the reasons of modification of hydrographic specifications (sound velocity, saltiness, density) and bottom features.

For realization monitoring and control of water layer thickness changes, which located between surface of discontinuity air-water and basin bottom, methods and equipment are needed, such as:

  • Sensors for distance determine of measuring unit relative to water surface and basin bottom (hydro acoustic and hydro static), temperature sensors, etc.
  • Unified equipment for information gathering, keeping and transfere to the centre by cable, hydro acoustic, radio or another channels
  • Software methods of collection and handling information from base measuring devices

System for measuring bottom-bed load depth and dynamics APS-PE includes:

Underwater station PS-APS-PE:

  • Hydrostatic pressure sensor DGD
  • Sound velocity sensor DSZ
  • Central unit BC
  • Hydro acoustic transducer A-20K (2 pieces)

Information transfer wireless unit (BBPI):

  • Accumulator compartment AO-APS
  • Transducer unit BA-02
  • Electronic unit BE

Board computing system BVK-APS:

  • Device of control and indication PUI
  • Uninterruptible power supply BBP

The main source of information is underwater station, which can be equipped with different sensors at customer’s request.

Base system can be placed on hydro technical constructions (sea platform, drilling rig, quay wall, etc), fixed on bottom framework with anchor and connected with buoy by conducting rope, buoy provided with radio modem for data transfere. Underwater station can be used as submersible probe, etc.
